Arch Filtration and filter maintenance
Filtration

Filtering is the primary fundamental element of treating your swimming pool water. The filtration quality and time are essential aspects of the quality of the water and bather comfort. The commonest methods of filtration are sand, diatom and cartridge filtration. Diatomite filtration has the highest filtration rating (finest filtration) and sand filters are the solution that require the least maintenance.

Filtration time:

A simple formula can be used to calculate the ideal filtration time quickly:

Filtration time = (water temperature / 2) + 1
Enter the temperature of your water:

°

The recommended filtration
time is:

hrs/day

This diagram compares the filtration ratings of the different filtration methods.

Filter maintenance

To ensure that filtration works as effectively as possible you need to clean your swimming pool filter regularly. Often, lime scale, rust and other mineral particles have a tendency to become deposited on the filters.
To remove deposits from sand filters use hth FILTERWASH.

  • Backwash and then rinse the filter
  • Add the product upstream of the filter (to the skimmer, overflow channel or pre-filter) and run the filter on the rinse-drain setting for a few seconds to disperse the product through the filter.
  • Leave it to work for at least half a day, for example overnight.
  • Backwash and rinse the filter copiously until no colour is present in the control indicator (when it is possible).
